Croozer Yuuna: One Modular Bike Trailer for Kids, Dogs and Cargo

Croozer Yuuna: One Modular Bike Trailer for Kids, Dogs and Cargo

Croozer Yuuna: One Modular Bike Trailer for Kids, Dogs and Cargo

Leaving the house with a young child can feel remarkably similar to preparing for a small expedition.

There is the child, obviously. Then the spare clothes, drinks, snacks, waterproofs, favourite toy, emergency second-favourite toy and the mysterious collection of sticks that apparently must return home with you. Add a dog who has noticed that everyone else is going out, and a quick nursery run can begin to resemble a fully crewed logistics operation.

The Croozer Yuuna modular bike trailer was designed for exactly this sort of real family life.

Rather than asking you to choose permanently between a child trailer, dog trailer or cargo trailer, the Yuuna uses interchangeable modules. The same trailer can be configured for children, a dog, shopping, luggage or a combination of these.

In other words, it is not three large trailers competing for space in your garage. It is one adaptable trailer that can change as your day—and your family—changes.

What is the Croozer Yuuna?

The Yuuna is Croozer’s premium modular bike trailer and buggy platform. Its cabin provides two module positions, allowing you to choose how the available space is used.

You can install:

  • One or two child-seat modules

  • A baby lounger

  • A dog module

  • One or two cargo modules

  • A mixture of compatible modules

Croozer describes the system as offering 117 possible configurations. You are unlikely to need all 117 before breakfast, but the point is that the trailer is not restricted to one job.

The base Yuuna includes the trailer chassis, drawbar, safety flag, standard coupling, buggy wheel, weather canopy, protective bottom plate, adjustable push bar, wrist strap and battery-powered rear light. The passenger, dog and cargo modules are selected separately, allowing you to build the version that suits your household.

This modular approach is the Yuuna’s biggest advantage. A conventional child trailer can become less useful once children outgrow it. A dedicated dog trailer may sit unused whenever the dog is not coming. A cargo trailer is excellent for shopping but tends to be less successful when asked to carry a toddler.

The Yuuna is built to evolve between these roles.

The Croozer Yuuna Kid configuration

For families with young children, the Yuuna can be configured with one or two passenger positions.

The Yuuna Basic Seat is designed for children from approximately one to four years old. It has a fixed 110-degree sitting position, ergonomic side support, a height-adjustable headrest and a five-point safety harness. Its Climatex material is designed to help regulate temperature and moisture during the journey.

The Yuuna Premium Seat offers the same core passenger support but adds an adjustable backrest. It can be set at either 110 or 130 degrees, providing a more relaxed position when a small passenger decides that the journey home is the ideal time for a nap.

As parents know, children can resist sleep for two hours at home and then fall asleep three minutes before you arrive somewhere.

Both seats fold when required, making it easier to create additional space or carry another module. They click into the Yuuna frame rather than requiring a lengthy reconstruction involving tools, loose bolts and language unsuitable for the nursery entrance.

For younger babies, Croozer offers a dedicated rotatable baby lounger. Baby transport must always follow Croozer’s age, development and operating instructions. The correct module should be chosen according to the child’s age and physical development rather than simply whether they fit inside it.

Croozer Yuuna Premium Child Seat

A practical nursery-run setup

For one nursery-aged child, a typical package would include:

  • Croozer Yuuna trailer

  • One Basic or Premium child seat

  • The correct coupling or replacement axle for the bicycle

  • An optional dedicated rain cover for more demanding British weather

The Premium Seat is likely to be the preferred choice for regular nursery journeys because of its reclining position. The Basic Seat remains an excellent option where a fixed upright position is sufficient.

The unused module space can later be fitted with a Cargo Module for bags, shopping or nursery equipment. This is particularly useful when the child’s backpack contains one drawing, half a breadstick and enough spare clothing to cross a mini mountain range.

Child Bike Trailer - Croozer Yuuna

The Croozer Yuuna Dog configuration

The Yuuna Dog Module transforms one side of the trailer into a dedicated travelling space for a dog.

The module includes a strong folding base, padded washable dog bed, partition net, safety belt and a choice of coverings. Depending on conditions, the compartment can use a mesh cover for airflow, a transparent PVC cover for weather protection or a more enclosed canopy.

The partition is especially useful when combining a dog with cargo or another passenger. It creates a defined space rather than asking your dog to negotiate seating arrangements with the shopping. Also a winner if you have two small dogs that have not quite decided who is top dog.

The module can be installed on either side of the trailer and is designed specifically for the Yuuna platform. Before ordering, the dog’s weight, sitting height, lying length and shoulder width should be checked against the available cabin space. Trailer compatibility is not determined by the dog’s firm belief that it can fit anywhere.

Who is the dog setup useful for?

A dog bike trailer is not only for small or elderly dogs.

It can also help:

  • Dogs that cannot safely run beside a bicycle

  • Older dogs with reduced stamina

  • Dogs recovering from an injury

  • Young dogs whose joints are not ready for sustained running

  • Dogs that enjoy longer family outings but cannot walk the entire distance

  • Urban households cycling to parks or quieter walking areas

The trailer lets you cycle the longer, less interesting section of the journey and begin the walk somewhere more suitable.

For households with both a young child and a dog, the possibility of installing a Kid Module beside a Dog Module is particularly valuable. It means the family can travel together without requiring one parent to drive behind carrying whichever family member did not fit.

The Croozer Yuuna Cargo configuration

The Yuuna Cargo Module provides a stable, non-slip platform for shopping, luggage and everyday equipment.

One Cargo Module can carry up to 20kg and can be fitted on either side of the trailer. Installing two Cargo Modules creates a larger loading area with a combined maximum cargo capacity of 40kg.

This makes the cargo configuration useful for:

  • Weekly food shopping

  • Nursery and school bags

  • Picnic equipment

  • Sports kit

  • Camping equipment

  • Work materials

  • Parcels and local errands

  • The unexpectedly large product you bought because it looked much smaller on the shelf

For many families, the most useful arrangement will not be the full cargo configuration. It will be one child seat paired with one Cargo Module.

That combination gives a child their own supported passenger position while reserving the other side for bags or groceries. You can complete the nursery run, stop at the supermarket and cycle home without balancing two shopping bags on the handlebars while trying to remember where you put the child’s water bottle.

A Dog Module can also be combined with a Cargo Module, giving the dog a defined travelling area alongside space for walking gear, food, shopping or luggage.

Croozer Yuuna trailer for Cargo, Dog, Child

One trailer for changing family life

The Yuuna makes the most sense when viewed as a longer-term transport system rather than a single-purpose purchase.

Your first configuration might be a baby lounger and Cargo Module. Later, the baby lounger can be replaced with a child seat. A second child seat can be added if the family grows. The trailer can then be reconfigured for a child and dog, or used for cargo after the children have outgrown it.

This is a more sustainable approach than repeatedly replacing the entire trailer as your requirements change.

It also makes sense for households trying to reduce shorter car journeys. Not every trip can or should be made by bicycle, but many local journeys involve carrying more than a standard bike rack can manage.

The Yuuna helps bridge that gap.

It gives you the flexibility of a bike trailer for the journey, a buggy when you arrive and, with the optional jogging kit, a further configuration for active use. The buggy wheel and cycling components are included with the base trailer; the jogging set is an additional accessory.

Comfort for less-than-perfect roads

Family cycling does not always take place on flawless cycle paths.

There are kerbs, paving joints, potholes and routes apparently designed by someone who has never transported a sleeping child. The Yuuna uses Croozer AirPad suspension, which automatically responds to the load without requiring manual adjustment.

The trailer also has a low centre of gravity, protective bottom plate and surrounding safety frame. The weather canopy provides protection from changing conditions, while side shading, an integrated sun canopy and UV-protective windows help manage brighter weather.

Climatex material is used in the passenger seats to support ventilation and temperature regulation. The adjustable push bar and handbrake become particularly useful when the Yuuna is being used as a buggy.

Which bikes are compatible with the Croozer Yuuna?

The Yuuna can be used with many conventional bicycles and e-bikes, but compatibility must be checked properly.

The important question is not simply, “Is this a Trek, Canyon, Giant or Orbea?”

Compatibility depends on:

  • Whether the bicycle manufacturer permits trailer use

  • The rear axle or axle-nut system

  • The axle diameter, thread pitch and required length

  • Clearance around the rear dropout

  • The bicycle’s permitted trailer and system weight

  • Whether a bike-specific adaptor or replacement axle is required

The standard Croozer coupling supplied with the trailer may fit some bikes directly. Bikes with modern thru-axles, hub gears or certain frame designs may require a replacement Croozer axle or axle nut with an integrated coupling.

This is why Hitch A Bike requests the exact bicycle model, model year and, where necessary, photographs of the rear axle and dropout before confirming an adaptor.

Canyon Pathlite:ON and Croozer trailers

Canyon offers one of the clearest manufacturer confirmations.

Canyon states that the Pathlite:ON is approved for Croozer trailers. Canyon also provides model-specific support information for the Pathlite:ON 4, 5 and 6 SUV, including guidance on fitting a Croozer trailer.

For example, the Canyon Pathlite:ON 4 SUV uses a rear thru-axle system and requires the appropriate Croozer replacement axle rather than simply fitting the supplied universal coupling beneath the original axle head.

The exact axle can vary according to the Pathlite:ON model, year and hub configuration, so the bicycle specification must still be checked before ordering.

The Pathlite:ON is a particularly logical pairing for the Yuuna. It is an everyday and touring e-bike with the motor support needed to make hills and additional trailer weight more manageable. That does not remove the need for sensible braking, loading and handling, but it can make regular family journeys far more practical.

Canyon Pathlite:ON

Canyon Roadlite:ONfly

Canyon also provides dedicated Croozer fitting guidance for the Roadlite:ONfly.

The Roadlite:ONfly is a lighter urban e-bike than the Pathlite:ON SUV, making it an interesting option for commuting, local errands and family transport on mostly paved routes.

Again, the correct connection component must be identified for the individual bicycle. Manufacturer support for trailer use does not mean that every model uses the same axle. Bicycle axles have an impressive ability to look nearly identical while being technically uncooperative.

Orbea Diem

The Orbea Diem is another urban e-bike range with clear manufacturer guidance.

Orbea states that its optional Diem trailer adaptor makes the Diem 10 and Diem 20 compatible with Croozer, Burley, Thule and Hamax trailers. The Diem 30 can work with conventional thru-axle trailer adaptors.

This makes the Diem range particularly relevant for riders looking for a smart urban e-bike that can support commuting, shopping and child-trailer use.

Owners should confirm the exact Diem version because the Diem 10 and 20 use Orbea’s dedicated adaptor, while the Diem 30 follows a different connection route.

Can the Yuuna be attached to other e-bikes?

In many cases, yes.

Croozer offers couplings, replacement thru-axles and axle nuts for a broad range of bicycle configurations. A suitable technical connection, however, is only one part of the compatibility check.

The bicycle manufacturer must also permit trailer use.

This is particularly important with e-bikes, carbon frames, internally geared hubs and bikes with unusually shaped rear dropouts. Some manufacturers permit trailers only on specific models, while others impose maximum trailer weights or require their own adaptor.

Before ordering, gather:

  1. The bicycle brand and complete model name

  2. The model year

  3. A photograph of the entire bicycle

  4. Clear photographs of both sides of the rear axle

  5. Any axle markings or measurements

  6. The bicycle manual’s trailer guidance

Hitch A Bike can then help identify whether the standard coupling is suitable or whether a bike-specific axle or adaptor is required.

Which Yuuna package should you choose?

For one nursery-aged child, start with the Yuuna, one Basic or Premium Kid Seat and the correct bike coupling or axle.

For two young children, choose two compatible seat modules, subject to Croozer’s age, height and weight limits.

For one child plus shopping, combine a Kid Seat with one Cargo Module.

For one child and a dog, combine the appropriate Kid Seat with the Dog Module, provided the dog fits comfortably within the available compartment.

For a dog and equipment, combine the Dog Module with a Cargo Module.

For full cargo use, install two Cargo Modules for a combined load of up to 40kg.

The right package is based on who or what you need to transport most often. You can add further modules later.
