Shipping Policy

Hitch A Bike offers free shipping on UK orders over £49

We are bicycle trailer specialists. Some products are held in UK stock at our warehouse, while others may be custom-made or sourced from trusted European supplier warehouses. That means delivery times can vary by product, but we aim to keep you informed before and after you order.

Where We Deliver

Hitch A Bike delivers across the UK, including:

  • England
  • Scotland
  • Wales
  • Northern Ireland
  • Scottish Highlands
  • UK offshore islands, where courier service is available

If your postcode is remote or difficult for a courier to reach, delivery may take longer than a standard mainland delivery. Where we become aware of a delivery issue, we will contact you using the details provided at checkout.

International Shipping

We can deliver selected products to countries outside the UK, but international shipping is quoted individually rather than automatically at checkout.

If you are based outside the UK and would like to order from Hitch A Bike, please contact us with the product you are interested in and your full shipping address. 

International customers are responsible for any local import duties, taxes, customs charges or clearance fees that may apply in the destination country. These charges are not controlled by Hitch A Bike and are not included in any product price or shipping quote unless clearly confirmed in writing.

Delivery Timeframes

We do our best to have orders shipped within 2 to 5 business days from the date of order.

Some products are custom made, ordered from supplier stock, or sourced from mainland Europe. For these items, delivery may take between 5 and 21 business days. Where a product has a longer expected delivery window, the most accurate information available will be shown at checkout or confirmed in your order updates.

Express delivery may be available in certain cases at an additional cost. This depends on the product, warehouse location, courier availability and the delivery postcode. For an accurate express delivery quote, contact us before ordering.

Order Confirmation

After you place an order, we will send an order confirmation to the email address used at checkout.

Receiving an order confirmation means we have received your order request and payment details. 

If an item is unavailable for immediate despatch, we will contact you by email. Where appropriate, you will be given the option to wait for stock, choose an alternative product, or cancel the order for a refund.

Tracking Information

Once your order leaves the warehouse, we will send tracking information to the email address provided at checkout, where tracking is available from the courier.

For larger bike trailers and cargo trailers, tracking updates may not appear immediately after the label is created. Courier tracking usually becomes clearer once the parcel has been scanned into the courier network.

Split Deliveries

If your order contains more than one product, the items may be delivered separately.

This can happen when products are shipped from different warehouse locations, when accessories are available sooner than a trailer, or when supplier-stocked items are released at different times. If your order is split, you will still receive the items included in your original order.

Safe Place and Delivery Instructions

If you choose to nominate a safe place with the courier, make sure the location is secure, dry and suitable for the size of the parcel.

Bike trailers and larger accessories can be bulky and may arrive in manufacturer packaging. If a safe-place delivery is selected by the customer, Hitch A Bike cannot accept responsibility for loss or theft after the courier has confirmed delivery to the nominated location.

If an Item Becomes Unavailable After Ordering

Although we work to keep stock information accurate, a product may occasionally become unavailable after an order has been placed. This can happen with supplier-stocked items, fast-moving products or specialist trailer models with limited availability.

If this happens, we will contact you by email and explain the available options. These may include waiting for the next available stock, choosing an alternative item, or cancelling the order for a refund.

If delivery timing is important, especially for a holiday, event, dog recovery plan, family trip or cargo project, contact us before placing the order. We can check the latest availability where possible and help you choose a sensible option.
