Terms of service
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service set out the rules for using the Hitch A Bike website and placing orders with us. They are written to be clear, practical and fair, so you know what to expect when browsing our website, contacting us, or buying bicycle trailers and accessories from Hitch A Bike.
By accessing this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Hitch A Bike is an online specialist bike trailer retailer. We do not operate a public showroom or walk-in retail premises. Our registered office is for company correspondence only and must not be used for returns unless we have specifically confirmed this in writing.
2. Scope of these Terms
These Terms of Service apply to all visitors, customers and users of the Hitch A Bike website. They cover use of the website, product information, orders, payments, delivery, returns, customer communications, third-party tools, website content and any other services made available through the website.
Additional policies may also apply, including our Shipping Policy, Refunds and Returns Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. Where those policies apply to your order or use of the website, they form part of the overall agreement between you and Hitch A Bike.
3. Using our Website
You may use this website for lawful personal or business purposes, including browsing products, reading information, contacting us and placing orders. You must not use the website in a way that damages, disrupts, overloads or interferes with its operation.
You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website, customer accounts, systems, servers, payment areas or any connected service. You must not upload or transmit viruses, malicious code, automated scraping tools, spam, phishing material or anything designed to compromise the security or performance of the website.
4. Age and Legal Capacity
By placing an order with us, you confirm that you are legally able to enter into a contract. If you are purchasing on behalf of a business, organisation or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
5. Product Information and Suitability
We work to make product descriptions, images, specifications, compatibility guidance and availability information as accurate and useful as possible. Some details are provided by manufacturers or suppliers, and we may update product information when new information becomes available.
Product images are provided to help you understand the item, but colours, finishes, packaging and small design details may vary slightly due to screen settings, supplier updates or production changes.
Many bike trailers & cycling-related products require correct fitting, sizing or compatibility checks. This is especially important for trailers, towing hitches, axle adapters, racks, child trailers, dog trailers and other fitted accessories. You are responsible for providing accurate measurements, bicycle details, axle specifications, dog measurements, child age or weight information, and any other information needed to assess suitability.
We are happy to help with practical pre-purchase guidance, but our guidance is based on the information provided to us. If the information supplied is incomplete or inaccurate, the recommendation may not be suitable. This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, misdescribed or not fit for a purpose that was clearly agreed with us before purchase.
6. Orders and Order Acceptance
When you place an order through the website, you are making an offer to buy the selected product or products. Your order is not accepted by us until we confirm acceptance, process the order, or dispatch the goods.
After placing an order, you should receive an order confirmation email. This confirms that we have received your order request. It does not guarantee acceptance if there is a pricing error, stock issue, suspected fraud, payment problem or other legitimate reason why the order cannot be fulfilled.
We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit an order where necessary. Examples include suspected fraudulent activity, payment failure, incorrect pricing, incorrect product information, product unavailability, delivery restrictions, supplier withdrawal, or an order that appears to be placed for unauthorised resale.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
7. Pricing, Taxes and Availability
Product prices are shown in pounds sterling. Where applicable, prices include VAT. Delivery charges, remote-area surcharges or other applicable costs will be shown before you complete checkout.
We may change product prices, availability, descriptions and offers without prior notice. Changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted, except where there has been an obvious error.
If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a genuine error, we may cancel the order and issue a refund. Where appropriate, we may contact you to offer the option of placing a new order at the correct price.
8. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout. You confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that the billing and payment information you provide is accurate.
Payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card details on our own systems. Payment providers may apply their own terms, checks and processing times.
If a payment is declined, reversed, disputed or flagged for review, we may delay or cancel the order until the matter is resolved.
9. Delivery
Delivery options, estimated timescales and costs are set out during checkout or on the relevant product page. Delivery times are estimates unless we have expressly agreed a specific delivery date in writing.
Some products may be dispatched directly from suppliers, fulfilment partners or specialist warehouses. If your order contains more than one item, products may arrive separately and at different times.
Unless otherwise agreed with you, goods should be delivered within 30 days of order acceptance. If there is a delay, we will work with the courier, supplier or fulfilment partner to resolve the issue and keep you informed.
Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are delivered to you, or to a person nominated by you, at the delivery address provided. Ownership passes once full payment has been received.
10. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Your cancellation, return and refund rights are explained in our Refunds and Returns Policy. For most online purchases, you have 30 calendar days from the day after delivery to tell us that you wish to cancel because you have changed your mind.
Returned items must be handled only as necessary to inspect them, as you would in a shop. If an item has been used beyond reasonable inspection, we may make a fair deduction for diminished value where permitted by law.
Your statutory rights are separate from your change-of-mind cancellation rights. If an item is faulty, damaged, misdescribed or not fit for purpose, you may have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
You must contact us before sending any return. Different products may need to be returned to different locations, and returns sent to the wrong address may be delayed.
11. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your item arrives faulty, damaged, incomplete or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible with your order number, a description of the issue and clear photos or video where relevant.
Your contract is with Hitch A Bike, not the courier. If an item is damaged in transit, we will help resolve the matter in line with your legal rights and our Refunds and Returns Policy.
We may ask you to keep the packaging while we investigate courier damage or arrange a collection, replacement, repair or refund.
12. Product Use, Safety and Customer Responsibility
Bike trailers & accessories must be fitted, used and maintained correctly. You agree to read and follow all manufacturer instructions, safety warnings, weight limits, age guidance, assembly instructions and maintenance requirements supplied with the product.
Where a product is fitted to a bicycle, e-bike, mountain bike, axle, hitch, rack or other equipment, you are responsible for checking that the product is securely fitted before use. If you are unsure, seek help from a qualified mechanic, technician or fitting specialist before riding or transporting passengers, pets or cargo.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of your statutory rights.
13. Promotions, Discounts and Offers
From time to time, we may offer discounts, promotional codes, sale prices or special offers. Promotions may be subject to separate terms, expiry dates, stock limits or eligibility rules.
Unless stated otherwise, promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers, applied retrospectively to previous orders, exchanged for cash or used after expiry.
We may withdraw or amend a promotion where there has been a mistake, misuse, technical issue or other fair reason to do so.
14. Accounts and Customer Information
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for ensuring that your account information is accurate and up to date.
You agree to provide accurate billing, delivery and contact information when placing an order. We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries or additional costs caused by incorrect information supplied by you.
15. Personal Information
Any personal information you provide through the website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.
We may share necessary order, delivery and payment information with trusted service providers, including payment processors, couriers, fulfilment partners, suppliers and customer support tools, where this is needed to process your order or provide our service.
16. Third-Party Tools, Services and Links
Our website may use or link to third-party tools, apps, payment services, review platforms, courier tracking pages, finance providers, social media platforms or manufacturer websites.
Third-party services are not owned or controlled by Hitch A Bike. We are not responsible for the content, availability, terms, privacy practices or performance of third-party websites or services.
You should review the terms and policies of any third-party service before using it.
17. Reviews, Feedback and Submissions
If you submit reviews, comments, photos, suggestions, feedback or other content to us, you confirm that the content is accurate, lawful and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
You must not submit content that is abusive, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, unlawful, spam, or contains malware or harmful code.
Where you submit feedback, reviews or other non-confidential content, you allow us to use, reproduce, edit and publish that content for legitimate business purposes, including customer support, website improvement and marketing, unless you clearly tell us otherwise or the law requires a different approach.
18. Intellectual Property
The website, including its text, layout, images, graphics, logos, product copy, guides, page content and other materials, is owned by or licensed to Hitch A Bike unless stated otherwise.
You may view and use the website for personal browsing and shopping. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, scrape, modify, sell, exploit or reuse our website content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
19. Prohibited Uses
You must not use the website or its content:
- for any unlawful purpose;
- to breach any applicable law, regulation or third-party right;
- to submit false, misleading or fraudulent information;
- to interfere with website security or functionality;
- to upload or transmit viruses, malware or harmful code;
- to collect, scrape or track personal information without permission;
- to spam, phish, impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
- to abuse, harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against any person;
- to copy or exploit website content without permission; or
- to place orders using stolen payment details or unauthorised payment methods.
We may suspend or terminate access to the website where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
20. Website Availability and Accuracy
We aim to keep the website available, secure and accurate. However, we cannot guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, fully up to date or free from technical issues.
We may update, suspend, remove or change any part of the website without notice where needed for maintenance, security, stock updates, supplier changes, legal compliance or business reasons.
We are not responsible for losses caused by your failure to use appropriate device security, internet protection or browser updates when using the website.
21. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the paragraph above, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you used the website or placed an order.
If you are a consumer, these Terms do not remove or reduce your statutory rights. If you are purchasing as a business, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
22. Indemnity
If you misuse the website, breach these Terms, infringe someone else’s rights or provide unlawful content, you agree to be responsible for any reasonable losses, claims, costs or expenses that arise as a result, to the extent permitted by law.
23. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that part will be treated as removed or limited to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining parts of these Terms will continue to apply.
24. Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean we have waived that right. We may still enforce it later.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with any policies referenced on our website, form the agreement between you and Hitch A Bike in relation to use of the website and purchases made through it.
26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also have rights to bring a claim in your local UK jurisdiction where applicable.
27. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our business, website, products, technology, legal requirements or customer support processes.
The version published on this page at the time you place your order will normally apply to that order. Continued use of the website after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.
