Andersen Scala Shopper — Hera Bag
Picking up the weekly shop without driving works — when the trolley does the heavy lifting. The Scala Shopper is Andersen's lightest two-wheel pull-along, paired here with the Hera — designed for compact, manoeuvrable shopping trips on smooth pavement and indoor floors. At just 1.8 kg empty it's the easiest Andersen to carry up steps or fold into a car boot, and the Bike n Easy attachment turns it into a bike trailer when you need it.

Compatibility
The Scala is built primarily as a two-wheel pull-along shopper, with bike-towing as a secondary mode via Andersen Bike n Easy. Best for: regular pavement shopping, indoor markets, short walking distances. The small 15 cm wheels are fine on smooth surfaces but will struggle on rough ground, gravel, or kerbs above 10 cm. For heavier terrain the Royal or Tura are better choices.
Attaching to a bicycle
This Shopper is compatible with Andersen's Bike n Easy attachment system, which lets you switch between pulling on foot and towing behind a bicycle in a few seconds.
Two components are needed: an adaptor on the Shopper (this frame takes the Type 1 Adaptor) and a coupling unit on the bicycle. The bike-side coupling depends on your bicycle's geometry:
Pull Easy — bikes with a rear luggage carrier
Easy Snap — alternative for rear-carrier bikes
Big Easy — bikes without a rear rack (mounts to seat strut)

Fitting & installation
The Andersen frame arrives fully assembled. The bag clicks onto the frame using the HängFix system (on Royal and Komfort) or attaches via integrated straps (on Scala, Unus, Tura). Both are tool-free.

FAQs
Is the Hera bag waterproof?
Water-resistant rather than waterproof — fine for light rain and pavement spray, but in heavy or sustained rain the contents should be in their own bags. For full waterproofing on the Komfort or Royal frames, the Hydro 3.0 or Holk bags use roll-top dry-bag construction. The Hera is not available on the Royal frame.
Can I remove the Hera bag from the frame?
Yes — on the Komfort frame the HängFix system lets the bag click off in a couple of seconds for carrying into the house. The Scala uses a strap-based attachment that's slightly slower but equally secure.
How much can the Scala Shopper carry?
40 kg chassis load capacity. In practice that's a full weekly shop for two adults — around 30 kg of groceries plus a couple of heavier items like wine or laundry detergent.
Is the Scala Shopper suitable for older or less mobile users?
It's one of the easier Andersen models for users with reduced grip strength — flat handle, low weight (1.8 kg empty), and pavement-friendly 15 cm wheels. The Komfort Shopper with its built-in seat is the alternative if rest breaks during longer walks are needed.
Hitch A Bike Expert Note
The Hera is the bag most customers under-rate. 47 litres is more capacity than the smaller Steg 5 (43L) and similar to the Lissa or Marta, but the layout — one main compartment plus inner and side pockets — makes it the fastest to pack at the checkout. If you mostly shop in dry weather and value fast loading over weatherproofing, this is the bag. For UK winters, pair with the Hydro 3.0 instead.

We offer Free Shipping on all our products over £49 for the UK mainland.
We do our best to have your order shipped within 2 (two) to 5 (five) business days from the date of your order. Please note some of our products are custom made or sourced from mainland Europe and some delivery times frames may be between 5 (five) and 21 (twenty-one) business days. Shipping times will be accurately displayed at checkout. We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out.
We endeavor to have your order delivered in the shortest amount of time possible. Express delivery for the next day or within 48 hours is available in certain instances at an extra cost. Please email support@hitchabike.co.uk for an accurate quote.
If, due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, a product becomes out of stock after an order has been placed, the customer will be notified by email and given an option to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
The customer should be aware that if an order consists of more than one product, these products may be delivered separately. In these cases, the customer will accept part delivery of an order.
Order confirmation
When we receive your order, we provide you with a confirmation to your email.
In addition, when you receive your order confirmation we have pre-authorised your payment method. We check with our warehouse or suppliers to make sure that your desired item is available and can be despatched.
In the event that your items are unavailable for immediate despatch, we remove the pre-authorisation from your credit card and send you an email informing you of our actions.
When items are available to be dispatched, we process the charges and prepare to despatch your order.
Please note if an order consists of more than one product, these products may be delivered separately as soon as they become available.
Redirections & Safe Spaces
Please be careful if nominating a safe space with with courier. Please ensure the area chose is safe and secure. We will not accept liability for items stolen if this method of delivery has been selected by the customer.
Where does Hitch A Bike deliver?
We deliver to all of the UK. Deliveries to Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and UK offshore islands may take an additional day to arrive.
RETURNS
Cancellations & Refunds
If your order has been shipped, you (the buyer) will also be responsible for actual return shipping charges. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order. The refund will be issued to the customer within 14 days of receipt of the product. Refunds on returns will only be accepted if the customer returns the product in its original packaging, unused, with all labels intact and any documentation that comes with the item.
Please note some of our featured products are shipped from various countries in the EU. These items have limited return policies. In some cases, an item may only be returned if it was received in a damaged condition. You (the buyer) will incur all costs related to the return shipping of these items.
If you have ordered an incorrect-sized item then please contact us as soon as possible and we can amend the product size for you before the item is dispatched.
